Letting go a little stress...

The past few days have been really tough and i'm sure the road ahead is going to be a really bumpy ride. Somehow or rather, work which seems like an obligation now seems to be kinda like an experience. Yes, we all work for money and im pretty sure there are many of us out there who just work for money but never fancy what they do, or at least not all the time. On the contrary, I'm begining to like what i do each day, not because of the money ( well that's a motivation) but because there's a certain element of satisfaction in it. I'm glad my job is not the same old mundane task which you do everyday blindly but rather something dynamic.

A more of less typical day in the office.... i unofficially start work at 930 after which i will get a nice hot brew from the pantry and get updates of the market from my central dealer Adrian ( who sits in front of the Bloomberg from 8-6 looking at graphs and numbers). After a brief check on the portfolio for the latest ups and downs in the fund, I will then have to scan through all the unread emails plus research materials from dozens of broking houses ( Nomura, CIMB and KimEng are of pretty good read).
Vanessa ( this never-say-die lady who rings every monday morning) will always wake me up with her overbought-oversold data analysis which half the time i'm not sure what is she babbling about, Connie who will always call when YY is not in the office yet and I have to hear her HK updates ( which now i hardly have the time to cover) ...many other sales broker will keep calling for YY till i hand over to him when he arrives.

David, strolls in about 10 and before you know it, he calls out for you. "So how Marcus?, hows everything?, have you settle ( watever yesterday's task) it?, "Dun worry David, everything's fine".

Today: Need to speak to you regarding the agreement you want the lawyers to draft, the details of the 20 units and average price, and about the transfer of shares of FOCL, and the remittance of funds into the BVI company, and what you gonna do about the authorisation letter to be sent out to ***, Adrian has yet to give me the figures and mauritius have yet to wake up to fax the directors resolution which was due yesterday etc etc........MultitaskMultitask...but im getting used to it.

When everything's done, i get back to my desk ....and i think to myself...what have i got myself into. Im suppose to be doing something else....
